What We're Looking For Wednesday

Catchy Title
Or Not

My friend Kris is looking to add
to a set of dishes she found.
She put this info on her blog
and I thought it was such a great idea
to get everyone involved.

I mean, who knows thrift shops
better than your fellow bloggers?
You just never know who might run into these.

I've also been looking for plates
to complete a set I found at Goodwill.
Kris and I are both looking for bird themed
dishes.

I figured it can't hurt to send word out
and see if anyone has seen these anywhere.
If you live in the Phoenix, Arizona area
or in the Corona, California area
and have seen any of the dishes that are
pictured below, please let me know.

Here's the set that I'm looking for:

Kris lives in the Corona area in California.
She's looking for these:
I will be heading to California to see Kris
next month so if you live in the Phoenix area or
Corona area, let us know and we can
go grab either set.

Also, let me know if you're looking
for anything in particular and I'll post it
on my blog.

This could be fun.
Or it could be a big pain.

We shall see.

addendum:  I just realized that today is Tuesday.
I'm leaving it.

I can't believe people actually use matching plates.

Good luck with the plate hunting! I particularly like your plate - the bird design would make a lovely quilt block!

I love to thrift myself - but I really don't know much about these plates.

Well, I REMEMBER those plates. Does that count?

I think my mother had the blue ones once. And the Johnson Bros were very popular when I was but a wee lass.

I'm off to check out the local second hand store for you with my fingers crossed!

I just got back....nothing there on the shelves today. But I will keep looking on my visits to stores in the area. Do you want just plates?

You might try Replacements, Ltd. It has the worlds largest selection of old and new dinnerware; its the size of 7 football fields. You might find some info there if you don't go the thrift store route. Here's their webb address:
www.replacements.com.
Its here in N.C., just down the road a little from me. Check it out. Its a really neat site to play around with if you love dishes.

I love buying vintage CLEAN gently used bed sheets!
I use them for quilts. They look awesome in baby quilts. So cute and vintage.
I've never seen those plate patterns, but they are awesome. I especially like the chicken/rooster one.
