Danger Zone & My Biggest Fan

Do Not,
under any circumstances,
make these cupcakes.

Salted Caramel Cupcakes

They're evil.

Every few weeks I make a batch of cupcakes and take them to my husband's office for everyone to share.  Everyone there is on a diet so they all hate me.
I'm okay with that.

I found the recipe on one of my favorite blogs.

Holy Smokes and shoot me dead if these aren't delicious.
I ate one.
Just one.
Really.

On another note, apparently, my father is bored with my blog.  You remember my Dad don't you?  I did an interview with him here.
He's ever so helpful.
Oh yes he is.
Here is an email that he sent me today:

Hi Kid:
Read your bog for the last few days.  Actually, I'm impressed that your life is rather mundane.  Nothing about drugs, probation, drive bys or Toby Kieth.  To add some excitement you need to interact with your neighbors in an unexpected way.
Bake a 3 layer cake and knock on the door of the lady down the street that waters her flowers in a mu-mu.  "Just been thinking about you and admiring your front yard, enjoy the cake."   Her response would give you blog material for a week.
Consider exchanging your trash container with the folks across the street just before the truck comes. It may take a week or two before they notice but their reaction would certainly merit an entire blog-maybe two.   In the meantime I will continue to read your blog even if it is about Melba toast.
love ya
dad

I do have to wonder how exciting his life is if he's sitting around coming up with ways for me to boost my blog material.

Love the email from your Dad. What a fun guy he sounds like. That is so funny.

Also, don't you just LOOOOVE the bruschetta sauce?? It is amazing. I could almost just drink it straight out of the carton. Dont be suprised if I do just that one day. :)

Holly,
Clearly, you get your great sense of humor from your Dad! He sounds like such a great guy. How is he feeling? Those cupcakes.....look.....amazing! I have not made that recipe before, but have seen it, and it does look incredible. Your husbands office will likely be expecting such wonderful creations now every week!! See what you've done!! And also, I have to say, thank you for the sweet comments you have let on my girls blogs regarding their Mama's birthday post. I went to bed that night of my birthday, just filled to overflowing with emotion. I realize that I am so darn lucky. And I know, I must treasure it every day! I am sitting out back in the orange grove, as I type this. I wish you lived near me. I have the spa all heated up, and a bottle of wine open. Hubby will be watching basketball, so looks like it is me, myself and I in the spa with my vino!!!
I will be back in a few days.
Love ya.

Go Holly's Dad! Oh and when would you be serving those little cakes again?

I agree with Laraine. I would totally follow your dad's blog if he ever decided to do one. My husband just asked me, "What's so funny?" I was laughing out loud so hard. And, yes, he's a hoot and a half!

Thanks Holly & likewise to see you!

Yes replace almond butter on what you would use peanut butter for, it's slightly better for you b/c almonds are better than peanuts. But I still love me some p.b. too. I switch it up :) I like to get the raw crunchy almond butter!

what a hoot! Sounds a lot like my Dad. Most days that I talk to him he asks me if I've gotten a book deal yet. Can't tell if he's serious or sarcastic!

I take it that Dad lives in Arizona too. Otherwise he would never know the inner workings of the folks here abouts. Hahaha! I can just picture the fodder you'd have for a blog post. I might have to try it myself. Our neighbors to the west (I think) were out screaming at each other from 12:30 to 1:30 a.m. night before last. I wonder what they'd have done if I'd strolled out in my pjs and offered some of those yummy cupcakes. (I'd probably still be licking the frosting off my face.) Your dad is a hoot. (as we say in Idaho.)
